In the third quarter of 2025, the travel and local app landscape in Kenya showcased varying trends in downloads and user engagement. Here’s a closer look at the top five apps based on data from Sensor Tower.

Instabridge: WiFi Hotspot Map had a noteworthy quarter with weekly downloads peaking at about 26.6K in early September. The app saw a minor fluctuation in downloads, with numbers ranging from 13.7K to 21.5K throughout the quarter. Active user engagement demonstrated a remarkable increase from 173.6K to 215K by the end of September.

Qatar Airways experienced a significant surge in downloads at the beginning of the quarter, reaching 13.5K in July, before gradually tapering off to around 5K by the end of September. Active users showed a similar trend, starting at 5.2K and escalating to a peak of 34.8K mid-quarter, before settling at 27.4K.

Easy Rout Map: Navigation Path saw consistent download numbers, with a noticeable peak of 9.1K in late August. Active user numbers increased steadily, reaching a high of 23.4K in early September.

Ethiopian Airlines downloads started strong at 7.5K in July but gradually decreased to around 3.7K by the end of the quarter. Active users followed a similar downward trend, peaking at 18.9K in mid-July and ending the quarter at approximately 15.5K.

Finally, Booking.com: Hotels & Travel displayed a steady decline in downloads from 4.7K in early August to 1.4K by the end of September. Active user engagement fluctuated slightly but remained robust, hovering around 77K throughout most of the quarter.
